The Kingdom of God Is within You In the Old Testament the people of Israel leave Egypt and travel to the Promised Land to take possession of it from the seven tribes that lived there. There were ordered to kill every man and every woman. The children sometimes were spared and sometimes not. When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither  thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations  before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the  Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;   And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou  shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: (Deuteronomy 7:1-2) Doesn´t God love everyone? Why would he kill these people and their little babies? God sees our lives as a wrestling match. He is constantly fighting with us through our conscience. After a while he grows tired of fighting with us and just lets us die: And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6:3) These tribes of people living in the Promised Land had been given a very long time to repent but refused.  So, because of their wickedness they were killed. God did have mercy on them, He gave them hundreds of years to repent, but the time had run out for them. In the New Testament Jesus makes the statement that ´THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.´ What He meant was that we are to take possession of our souls (or minds) like the Israelites took possession of the Promised Land. There is to be no more shedding of men´s blood to establish the Kingdom of God, but now there is to be shedding of our own sinful thoughts. A kingdom can be defined as the place where the will of a king is done. Therefore the Kingdom of God is where the will of God is done. Whenever a man does the will of God he has entered into the Kingdom of God: And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. (Mark 12:32-34) The land of Israel was once a place where the will of God was done, but it became corrupt and was cast away. Now Jesus Christ has determined to place His Kingdom in the hearts of His people: And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. - Luke 17:20-21 We are therefore to exterminate all the wickedness within us sparing none. God had patience with us for thousands of years in tolerating people having wicked thoughts. The time has run out for those wicked thoughts. They must be exterminated. Some will say that is impossible! Anyone who fails to exterminate the wicked thoughts within His mind will suffer the wrath of God, like Saul who disobeyed the commandment of God to slay the Amalekites: And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.   Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?   And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.   But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.   And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.   For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (1 Samuel 15:18-23) Exterminating the wicked thoughts is like pulling the weeds out of the garden of your mind. All wicked thoughts are like seeds planted by the devil and his servants. These seeds grow up into weeds that choke the seed planted by Jesus, so they must be removed. The garden of our soul (or mind) must be jealously guarded at all times from thoughts of greed, lust (living in luxury), idolatry (making God jealous), etc. Of course, as God fought the battles for the Israelites, we need His power to win the battle against our sinful thoughts: For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. (Deuteronomy 20:4) If you have the Holy Spirit, your desires to do evil disappear. This is actually the test for whether you have the Holy Spirit. If you still desire to do evil, then the Holy Spirit is not in you, because the Holy Spirit is the desire to do Holy things. A ¨spirit¨ is the same as a desire. Just as the Promised Land of Israel was inhabited by seven evil tribes of people, so our heart is inhabited by seven evil spirits: These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19) Christians are to completely destroy these evil spirits as the Israelites were told to destroy the evil tribes. If we do not, we are told we will die: Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. Else if ye do  in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you: Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you. (Joshua 23:11-13) Since the evil spirits within us are the enemies of God we cannot have any friendship with them. We are warned to destroy all the evil within us or die! This is the New Testament in Jesus Christ: obey Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit destroy all the evil in you or die! You won´t hear that in Christian churches today because they are cursed for disobedience! Just as Israel was destroyed for not removing the seven evil tribes, so will the Christian peoples be destroyed for not removing the seven evil spirits within them. We can see today the way the Christian churches are caught in snares and traps because of the acceptance of evil. Just like Israel, the Christian countries have become worse than the nations around them. Soon the day of God´s judgment will come and they will fall.
