The Prison of
Spiritual Drunkenness But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. (Isaiah 42:22) Jesus came to set people free from their sins, but most people today are still in prison. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1) When a person sins against God by doing anything they know is wrong there is always a curse. You do not have to wait for punishment in Hell, because you will find swift punishment in this life. There are many types of punishment. The one type most people do not see is the most dangerous. The secret curse of God is to put a spirit of ´drunkenness´ on a sinful person. After their mind becomes ´drunken´ they cannot find their way back to righteousness. They become lost and sink into deeper and deeper sins which will destroy their life and damn them for eternity. They will not see danger approaching, and as the Bible writers put it, ´God has set a trap for them.´ Because their children will learn evil from them, generations are cursed as well. Each sin a man commits carries a curse which can darken all future generations, just like Adam and Eve´s sin. Why would you think that Adam would be cursed for sin and not yourself today in the exact same way? God does not change His ways. Likewise, a single sin spreads a curse which dooms families, churches and entire nations. It is like a disease or a plague. This is why the Jews of Israel so often killed people who committed dangerous sins. This is why churches must remove sinful people from the congregation. Today, the doctrine of Tolerance has made us all blind to the fact that sin is a contagious disease. We tolerate sin at the risk of our lives. If people knew about this secret curse they would fear God greatly and avoid sin. However, churches today are ´drunken´ with sins, teach false doctrines and pervert the Gospel. As Israel was destroyed for unfaithfulness so will the Christian countries of the world meet judgment at the hands of God. The Jews mocked God and what was their end? Why should Christians who mock God think their end will be different than the Jews who did the same? The Great Whore of Babylon in the Book of Revelation is the people possessed by the spirit of rebellion which led astray Israel and then now the unfaithful Christian countries of the world: My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God. (Hosea 4:12) The ¨Christian¨ people will suffer the fierce wrath of God just like the Jews did. Their end is to be burned with fire by the Capitalistic-Democratic government symbolized by the Seven-Headed Beast. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. (Revelation 17:16) Because the churches are in the prison of spiritual ´drunkenness´ they do not take warning from this prophecy. Everyone on Earth becomes trapped into this spiritual prison. The only way out is for God to give you a repentant heart, a gift of charity. God´s nature is to have mercy on the humble and the meek, so He has given the gift of a repentant heart to them. If God gives you this gift, your spiritual eyes and ears are open. You are still in the ´prison of spiritual drunkenness´ but you can then read, understand and obey the Gospel to find the door. Then you begin escaping from the prison. You become converted from having a sinful spirit to having the Holy Spirit. Through continual obedience to the Gospel of Christ you can become more and more free and closer to God. All of this is necessary just to return you to the original state of sinless mankind before the fall into sin; to become like an innocent child! So much pain and hardship over a foolish rebellion against the will of God! It is a lesson saints are not likely to forget and I think that is why God forces them all to go through it. Sin is always nearby, however, and there is constant danger of falling back into bondage through pride, lust or other sins. By relying on Christ to strengthen them through prayer and not trusting in themselves, however, saints will not fall. Christ taught us to bless our enemies, give charity, turn the other cheek when attacked and to deny ourselves. This, of course, is unjust. We should not have to suffer for doing good. It does, however, remove our debt to God since the evil person who harms us receives our curse and will pay the debt for us. Like the Scapegoat of the Day of Atonement, we are cleansed by our High Priest in Heaven Jesus Christ and the one who sins against us will be condemned unless he also receives forgiveness. If you do this you will find your way out of the prison of ´drunkenness´, because the only way out is to pay what you owe God. The payment is made through our own suffering in the flesh by following the commands of Jesus: Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. (Matthew 5:25-26) The prison Jesus is talking about is not Hell, because Hell has no way out. The prison He is talking about is the prison of spiritual ´drunkenness´ to which God sends on all who do evil in the world. To escape this prison you must suffer and bear it patiently as Jesus commands. It is a bitter medicine that saves your life. Remember Jesus called the world to follow Him, not to worship Him. Do not trust in His blood to save you unless you follow Him. Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
